About the sauna
To rent the sauna
A unique, memorable and cosy activity to experience with you friends or your family. You rent the sauna for yourselves. The sauna fits up to 12 persons and there is also a small relax area where you can sit 6-8 persons if you bring something to eat or drink.
The floating sauna is located in the marina of Rättvik. En kul dag Dalarna AB is the owner of the sauna.
To get there
In the summer time you can use our little boat and row to get to the sauna. It is just 30 meters from land and shallow water.
In the winter you walk on the ice. It is shallow and frozen to the bottom. Out side the sauna it is a bit deeper, about 110 cm. There we make a hole in the ice for a refreshing winter bath. We make a wooden frame around the hole and there is two steps so you can easy get in and out.
In the sauna
In the winter we light the fire so it is warm when you get there. In the summer you light it yourselves when you get there. The sauna will get warm in 20 minutes.
There is no shower but there is a water tank beside the fireplace so fill it up with water and you will get warm water to pour over yourself with buckets. The floor is self draining so the water goes straight back into the lake.
Bring your own towels. Firewood is included.
Relax and sundeck
There is also a small relax for up to 8 persons. Here you can sit if you want to bring something to eat or drink.
The sundeck is nice to use in the summer to enjoy the sunsets.
Diving is prohibited, shallow water!
